Avelino Pacheco Gonçalves era ministro do Trabalho quando foi criado o primeiro salário mínimo nacional em 1974 por iniciativa do I Governo provisório. Fixado em 3300 escudos, o mesmo recorda como a economia cresceu ao ser impulsionada pelo novo poder aquisitivo dos trabalhadores. Em 1977 , o FMI “aterrou na Portela” pela primeira vez, trazendo na bagagem “pacotes” que se traduziram em redução de salários e subida de impostos.

Are We Gregarious?

As  a daily commuter of the Lisbon metro, I sometimes wonder if humans are truly gregarious and sociable as they seem.
